Fantastic F-5!!!
Price: $2249.95 **SOLD**
We think this is a 1988, based on the s/n, 88704, but we also know Saga has a wacky s/n system. Perhaps little to no system actually. I’m sure there are plenty of Kentucky mandolin experts out there that can shed some light on actual year model. This is a fantastic offering featuring good appointments, nice woods and a delightful played in tune.
Specs:
Solid Select Spruce top, Maple back/sides/neck in a cremona burst gloss lacquer finish with 3-ply bindings throughout. Side bound body. Flat Ebony fretboard, 1-1/16″ nut width, V-shape neck, parallel tone bars, Gotoh tuning gears, traditional engraved tailpiece and elegant Fern headstock inlay.
Terrific sound featuring a dry, full and woody tone with very good volume. Nicely balanced with excellent note definition. Strong chop. Pro set-up.
Excellent condition, considering age. Top has a good deal of finish swirls, nd superficial finish scratches. Mostly on the light side. Small 1/16″ dia. hole drilled near the bridge for installation of a pick up, which has been removed, but included in the sale. Headstock has a fair amount of superficial scratching as well. Has very minor fretwear.
Includes a recent rectangular case. Fairly nice case.
