Fabulous F-5!!
Price: $7499.95 **SOLD**
Stunning handcrafted F-5 model from Jamie Wiens out of British Columbia. This fine example, s/n 9 had the top replaced by Jamie in 2005, which is contrary to the description in the Mandolin Archive, which claims it was re-topped in 2007. However, the re-top date of 2005 is written inside the mandolin body. It features top shelf woods and appointments combined with immaculate fit and finish work and a delightful voice.
Specs:
Sitka Spruce top, Quilted Maple back/sides/neck in a cremona burst lacquer finish, 3-ply bindings throughout, radius Ebony fretboard, 1-1/8″ nut width, parallel tone bars, gold hardware includes; Custom cast tailpiece (nice!) and Waverly tuning gears with pearl buttons. Flowerpot headstock inlay.
Amazing sound. A link to a sound clip may be found here;

In addition to the re-top work, the neck was replaced and the mandolin was re-finished. Excellent condition overall. The top shows a fair amount of light pick marks, particularly below the strings. Just superficial stuff. Some light blemishes on the back as well. Shows a footprint from one of those dumb arm rest gadgets. Headstock has a ding and string scratches. Set up very nicely.
Includes a Collings hard shell case. Trades gladly considered.
