Big Dog!
Price: $2,749.95 **SOLD**
Early 2000’s Silverangel, s/n 142 handcrafted by Ken Ratcliff. This fine example features a carving on a portion of the one piece back, Abalone bindings and an elaborate mother-of-pearl fretboard inlay, combined with body distressing and big, bold sound.
Specs:
Adirondack Spruce (we think) top, figured Maple back/sides/neck in a cremona burst varnish finish, 2-ply Abalone/Ivoroid bound body and headstock, single Ivoroid bound fretboard. Radius Ebony fretboard with vase and floral inlays, 1-7/32″ nut width, tone bars, custom cast tailpiece and gold Gotoh tuning gears.
Warm and resonant tones with significant sustain and big volume. Impressive sounding instrument with strong bluegrass chop. Excellent upgrade from a pac-rim or fine choice as a back up that won’t break the bank.
Excellent condition, but does have intentional distressing. a lot of makers marks. I am told that the top has been replaced somewhere along the line, but I can’t tell it. There’s a great deal of writing on the underside of the top, but I was going cross-eyed trying to read (backward) with a mirror. Speed neck.
Offered with a somewhat soiled Travelite case.
Trades gladly considered on this fine American made instrument.
