Beasty!!!
Price: $3449.95 **SOLD**
Very early F-9. 2002 was the first year of the F-9 and I believe this may have been the very first one they built, however, I’ve been contacted by someone that owns one from April of 2002. Serial number 20610010 indicates it was built on 6/10/02 and was #1. This offering features an outstanding voice. She’s been played quite a bit in her 21 years and has the voice to prove it.
Sitka Spruce top, Maple back/sides/neck in the Sheraton brown satin lacquer varnish finish. Someone has polished it to a nice gloss, however. Single ply top binding, flat Ebony fretboard, Ebony adjustable bridge, parallel tone bars, 1-1/16″ nut width, Schaller tuning machines.
Classic Gibson tone. Warm, dry and very nicely balanced. Excellent sustain and a strong bluegrass chop. Loud mandolin. Sounds much richer than it’s price tag.
Excellent to Excellent-minus. Has some pinky wear below the fretboard. Has a fair number of small scratches, a few dings and other assorted blemishes. Headstock has string scratches. Frets are good, almost no wear.
Includes what may be the original case. Appears to be the same age. Has some case stickers. Trades gladly considered on this fine American made instrument.
