Fantastic Clarence White!
Price: $4,249.95 **SOLD**
Terrific Rosewood Martin, #103 of 292, with all the goodies. Lovely Adirondack top, herringbone trim, Waverly’s, just to name a few. This Clarence White Commemorative Edition is a replica of the Clarence White’s legendary 1935 D-28, later owned by Tony Rice.
Specs:
Adirondack Spruce top with Herringbone trim, East Indian Rosewood back and sides and neck in a natural gloss lacquer finish. Ebony fretboard with 1-11/16″ (looks to be 1/32″ over) nut width, Ebony bridge, Adirondack bracing and vintage style Waverly tuning gears. Dalmation pickguard and bone nut (and saddle?) are replacements, everything else appears to be original.
Exceptional voice. Warm, rich and woody. Big low end. Adirondack top has opened up quite nicely. Excellent balance and note definition. Classic bluegrass tone. This one’s a Hoss.
Excellent overall condition. Top has some lacquer pings, dings and pick marks. Nothing serious. Some fret wear, but on the light side.
Includes original Geib style case. Had some case stickers at one time, but they’ve been removed. Has some glue residue here and there.
