Stunner!!!
Price: $4999.95 **SOLD**
Early varnished version of the ever popular MT-2 model. This example, s/n 937, features a wide nut, incredible flamed Maple, impeccable fit and finish and excellent appointments. Nicely played in voice as well.
Specs:
Adirondack Spruce top, wildly flamed Maple back/sides/neck in a gloss varnish finish. Three ply bindings throughout. Adjustable Ebony bridge, radiused Ebony fretboard and abbreviated Ebony pickguard. 1-3/16″ nut width, parallel tone bars and Collings vine headstock inlay. Gold hardware includes Gotoh tuning gears and cast Collings tailpiece.
A remarkable sounding mandolin featuring a deep, dark and woody tone. Powerful and responsive with a huge bluegrass chop.
Excellent overall condition. Top shows a fair amount of fingernail and pick scratches below the pickguard. A previous owner must have preferred picking without the guard attached. Has a couple dings north of the bass f-hole. One is around 1/16″ in diameter. The other is tiny. Frets show some wear, but a long time from needing a dressing. Headstock has a small string scratch. She’s still very clean. Pretty mandolin.
Includes Collings (TKL Vintage) case. Trades gladly considered on this fine American made instrument.
