Magnificent!!!

Magnificent Collings, nearly twenty years old, s/n 735. Hard to find Collings s/n data these days, but it appears that this one would be a 2006-2007. This varnished example features top shelf woods, excellent appointments and an exceptional voice.
Adirondack Spruce top, highly figured Maple back/sides/neck in a traditional sunburst varnished finish w/ 3-ply bindings throughout, radius Ebony fretboard, 1-1/8″ nut width, tone bar bracing, adjustable Ebony bridge and gold hardware includes Waverly tuning machines with Ebony buttons and cast Collings tailpiece.
This mandolin has been played quite a bit in it’s lifetime to date and the voice is quite well developed. Exceptional sounding mandolin. Big and bold. Deep, dark and woody tones, excellent volume and sustain and a thick bluegrass chop.
Excellent-minus condition. Top has a fairly significant amount a scratches and pinky rash, particularly underneath and below the pick guard. I’m guessing that the previous owner removed the pickguard. Top also has some tiny mic dings and pings. Back has some scratches as well, but less than the top. The back has what appears to be finish checking, but it’s below the top coat and only visible when viewed at an angle. Frets are nearly perfect.
Offered with AVS (TKL vintage style) oblong case. Trades gladly considered on this fine American made instrument.
