Excellent Collings A-style. Not a trophy by any means, but definitely has the tone. This example features an insanely flamed Maple back.
2011 Collings MT Specs:
Specs: Engelmann Spruce, tortoise bound top, highly figured Maple back/sides/neck in a traditional sunburst satin finish. Radius Ebony fretboard, 1-1/8″ nut width. Parallel tone bars, Nickel hardware includes cast tailpiece and Grover (I think) tuning gears with black knobs.
A delightful sounding mandolin that a deep, dry and woody tone. Collings mandolins offer a more modern sound to my ear, but the MT leans a little more towards tradition, perhaps due in part to the Engelmann top. Also loud and responsive with a chunky chop.
Excellent-minus condition. Has a few dings on the soundboard, one is into the wood. Scratch on the upper bout, which is about 1-1/4″ long. “Pinky shine”. Some of the finish has worn away on the neck at the fretboard. Some fret wear, but on the light side.
Includes original Collings hard shell case with green interior.
