Alpine (Swiss) Spruce top, vividly figured Red Maple back/sides/neck in a varnish finish (black top, burst back) multi ply Koa bindings throughout, flat Madagascar Ebony fretboard with Abalone block inlays, 1-3/32″ Pearl nut, gold EVO frets, Ebony bridge, parallel tone bars. Gold hardware includes engraved James tailpiece and Grover tuning gears and an elegant Flowerpot headstock inlay.
Tone is woody, warm and dynamic. Loud. A very responsive mandolin with a powerful bluegrass chop. Nicely balanced. This mandolin qualifies as a Hoss.
Excellent condition overall. Top shows some minor wear and pick scratches below the fretboard and some other light scratches elsewhere on the top. Otherwise, a very clean instrument.
Offered with a Travelite case. Trades gladly considered on this fine American made instrument.
