Remarkable F-5L Fern mandolin. This is the first F-5L at MandoMutt in several years. This fine example is exceptionally clean and features excellent woods and appointments combined with a delightful voice.
Sitka Spruce top, highly figured Maple back/sides/neck in cremona burst gloss lacquer finish. Three ply top bindings throughout, flat Ebony fretboard, Ebony adjustable bridge, parallel tone bars, 1-3/32″ nut width, elegant ‘Fern’ headstock inlay and gold hardware including; Grover tuning machines with pearl buttons and engraved traditional tailpiece.
Classic Gibson tone. Warm, dry and woody with excellent “pop” and projection. Big bluegrass chop. Responsive, volume aplenty. Exceptional sounding Gibson.
Near-mint condition. Shows some superficial pick marks around the treble ‘f’, a few string scratches on the headstock and very minor fretwear. Pro set-up, plays easy.
Includes original (TKL) oblong case. Trades gladly considered on this fine American made instrument.
