Specs: Adirondack Spruce top, highly figured Maple one piece back, Maple sides and neck in a dark sunburst varnished finish, 3-ply bindings throughout, radiused Ebony fretboard, 1-1/8″ pearl nut, abbreviated Ebony pick guard, parallel tone bars, and Fern headstock inlay. Gold hardware includes engraved James tailpiece and Waverly tuning gears with pearl buttons.
Heavenly sound. Deep, woody tone and superbly balanced. Rich. Chunky chop. Tom Ellis may be the architect of the “modern mandolin tone” and this one is a perfect example.
Near mint condition, showing a few light and minor impressions on the top and minor fretwear. Otherwise mint.
