Monster!
Price: $3249.95 $2849.95
Lucky mandolin, s/n 62. Somewhat unique build for Skip, featuring the Engelmann Spruce soundboard. He hasn’t built many Engelmann topped instruments. Plus, it’s got the four leaf clover. Can’t beat that. Also has a lovely one piece back.
Engelmann Spruce top and tone bars, Big Leaf Maple back/sides/neck in an antique burst oil varnish finish, 3-ply bindings throughout, 12″ radius Ebony fretboard, 1-1/8″ nut width, Ebony solid bridge base, four leaf clover inlay, Mother-of-Pearl truss rod cover, nickel hardware includes; engraved James tailpiece and Grover tuning gears. Hide glue construction.
Wicked good sound. Dry, deep, warm and dynamic. Responsive and powerful. Big bluegrass chop. A monster and a crowd pleaser.
Excellent-plus condition. Has a small amount of pinky wear under the fretboard and a couple tiny finish scratches on the top and minor fretwear, slight indentions at the first few frets.
Includes an oblong Cedar Creek case.
Trades gladly considered on this fine American made instrument.
