Oval Bliss!
Very cool A-4 style blondie, handcrafted by John Hamlett out of Richmond, KY. This example, s/n 45 features an immaculate fit and finish, top shelf woods and superb appointments.

Adirondack Spruce top, figured Maple back/sides/neck in a blonde/natural varnish finish w/ 3-ply bound top. single ply bound back. Radius Ebony fretboard with gold EVO fret wire, 1-1/8″ nut width, X-braced, wind blown tree headstock inlay and gold hardware includes Rubner tuning machines with Ebony buttons, and John’s special custom tailpiece.
Warm and earthy sounding mandolin. Unlike most ovals I’ve played, this example offers rather brilliant highs in addition to the normal plunky low end that one would generally think of with ovals. Lows are not quite like a vintage Gibson oval. All things considered, I think she’s an exceptional sounding instrument that offers a certain versatility that is not usually attributed to an oval. In my opinion, she’d even make an acceptable bluegrass mandolin.
Near mint condition. Has a small v-shaped ding on the back and a ping or two on the sides. Otherwise mint.
