Magnificent Mandolin!!!
Price: $5999.95 **SOLD**
Like new David Harvey Gibson, label signed 3/31/22. Nearly an April Fool’s mandolin. This fine example features an Adirondack Spruce top, rare to the F-5G model and a $1K+ upgrade. She’s a beast.
Specs:
Adirondack Spruce top, highly figured Maple back/sides/neck in a dark burst gloss lacquer finish. 3-Ply top binding, flat Rosewood fretboard, Rosewood adjustable bridge, parallel tone bars, 1-1/16″ nut width, Flowerpot headstock inlay and Gibson Grover tuning machines.
Responsive and strong mandolin with that classic Gibson tone. Warm, dry and woody. Big chime and sustain. Sounds fantastic now, despite still being a little tight. The top will continue to open up. Excellent bluegrass chop.
Near-mint condition showing very minimal playwear. A few superficial scratches below the strings from pick and very minor fretwear are the only signs that this mandolin has been played. Very clean. Strings are likely original and will be replaced with J-74’s shortly. Why don’t people ever put fresh strings on their mandolins and guitars? Truly a significant and positive difference in sound with fresh strings. I don’t get it. Laziness perhaps?
Includes original TKL case with leather Gibson pull tag inside. Trades gladly considered on this fine American made instrument.
