Epic!!

This is our third Aleyas since December and we’re quite impressed with each one. This example features impeccable fit and finish, top shelf woods and exceptional appointments, combined with excellent playability and and terrific voice. A truly epic mandolin, handcrafted by Lee Chapman in Charleston West Virginia.
Adirondack Spruce top, highly figured Maple back/sides/neck in a tobacco burst in an oil varnish finish with french polish top coat, 3-ply side bindings throughout, radius Ebony fretboard, 1-1/16″ nut width, abbreviated Ebony pickguard and parallel tone bars. Gold hardware includes; engraved James tailpiece and Waverly tuning gears with amber buttons. Lovely torch headstock inlay.
A definitive hoss. Big, round sound. Reminds me of a Kimble or perhaps an Ellis on steroids. Leans a tad more toward traditional tones than an Ellis though. Very powerful and provides a stellar bluegrass chop and plenty of sustain.
New Condition without flaw or blemish.
Includes Hoffee case black/blue, equally new. Trades gladly considered on this fine American made instrument.
