Late `24 Gibson oval hole, nearly all original. The tuning gears are reverse Stew Mac Repro gears. The vintage looking tuners. The originals are included in the original case and, work decently we are told.
1924 Gibson A-2Z Mandolin Specs:
The finish on this mandolin is in remarkable condition. It looks maybe 25 years old, instead of nearly 100. It is the original finish. When I opened up the case, I couldn’t believe it, but the owner says it is original. He purchased it in 2018 from Carter Vintage in Nashville for $5500 in it’s original case. The Carter’s receipt will be included.
Considering the age of this instrument it is in amazing condition, particularly the soundboard which shows a few dings and scratches, but not much. The back has some scratches and button marks, but still in exceptional shape relative to age. The frets do have some wear, however, and may need attention before too long. Plays fine now and no work is needed.
Includes the original case, which is not nearly as clean as the mandolin, but good condition, relative to age.
An absolutely wonderful Loar Era Gibson. Trades gladly considered on this fine American made instrument.
