1850’s Redwood top, Sugar Maple back/sides/neck in an dark burst oil varnish finish, 3-ply side bound body, flat Ebony fretboard, 1-1/8″ nut width, EVO frets, Ebony bridge, Red Spruce parallel tone bars, nickel hardware includes Allen style tailpiece and Gotoh tuning gears. Hide glue construction.
This mandolin provides tone that you can feel in your bones. Big, open and woody, with a stout low end, yet excellent balance throughout the spectrum. Classic bluegrass tone. Solid chop and, like all of Skips mandolins, big volume. A powerhouse in a small package.
