Meet Kermando aka Kermit. This one year old A-5, built by Steve Hinde out of New Hartford, IA, features a lovely black top and unique Forest Green back, hence the Kermit the frog reference. This fine offering, s/n 31, is our first Hinde instrument and it’s an impressive mandolin. Excellent fit and finish, top shelf appointments and and a strong voice.
Cedar top, highly figured Curly Maple back/sides/neck in a black/forest green spirit varnish finish, Tortoise bound body, radius Ebony fretboard, 1-1/8″ nut width, parallel tone bars, engraved James tailpiece which appears to be custom, and Waverly tuning gears with pearl buttons. Vine headstock inlay.
Fantastic sound, somewhat similar to an Ellis. Warm, woody and dark. Chunky chop. Outstanding volume. Sure to please.
Mint condition. Outstanding set-up.
Includes a white Superior case. Trades gladly considered on this fine American made mandolin.
