Hoss!!!
Price: $3499.95 **SOLD**
Beasty Big Mon mandolin built by the Northfield folks. This example looks like she’s been played, sounds like she’s been played. An incredible sounding mandolin. Excellent appointments. Recent fret level and set up.
Specs:
Engelmann Spruce top, highly figure Maple back/sides/neck in a cremona burst, hybrid varnish finish with 3-ply bindings throughout. Radius Ebony fretboard, 1-1/8″ nut width, parallel tone bars, abbreviated Ebony pick guard, elegant Mother-of-Pearl headstock inlay, Grover tuning gears with black buttons and engraved James tailpiece. Also has a pick up, likely K & K.
Big, full and warm sound featuring a resonant, woody tone with complex overtones and significant sustain and volume. Powerful and responsive. Strong chop. A bluegrass powerhouse. Hoss.
Good to excellent-minus. Has a significant number of dings and scratches on the top, particularly around the bridge. Looks like someone thought they knew how to move the bridge around and discovered that they were sadly mistaken. Back has a few scratches and finish marks. Has blemishes from one of those ridiculous ToneGard contraptions. Headstock has string scratches and dings.
Includes a recent Northfield Airloom case. Trades gladly considered.
